Where is the retreat located?
The Mountain Top Retreat is located just outside Martinsburg, West Virginia, tucked away atop a private mountain setting. The final approach includes a quiet road and a short drive up the mountain, offering seclusion and sweeping views once you arrive. Exact directions and arrival details are provided in the welcome guide prior to check-in.
How do we check in?
Check-in is self-guided and designed to be simple and unhurried. You’ll receive a detailed welcome guide before arrival with directions, entry instructions, and tips for a smooth transition into the space. If any questions come up along the way, we’re always available via messaging.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in: 3:00 PM
Check-out: 11:00 AM
Early check-in or late check-out may be available depending on the schedule and can be requested through Guest Provisions, which can be found at the top of this page.
Is the road up the mountain difficult to drive?
The road is well-maintained, but it is a mountain road and can feel different from city driving. We recommend taking it slowly, especially during winter months or after rain. Any seasonal considerations or weather updates will be shared prior to your arrival.
Is the retreat private?
Yes. The retreat sits on a large private property surrounded by forest and open land. For privacy and safety, the gates along the main road are kept closed—please be sure to close them behind you as you arrive and depart. They are not locked.
Are hiking trails available on the property?
Yes. Guests are welcome to enjoy the on-property hiking trail. For safety and preservation of the land, please stay within marked property lines, which are indicated with pink ribbon. The trail offers a gentle hike and a peaceful way to explore the landscape.
Can we have visitors or host gatherings?
The retreat is intended for registered guests only and is not suited for parties or unregistered visitors. Special gatherings or events may be considered only with prior approval—please reach out in advance if you’d like to discuss.
Are pets allowed?
At this time, pets are not permitted at the retreat. This helps us maintain the space for guests with allergies and protect the surrounding wildlife.
Is smoking allowed?
Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the home. If smoking outdoors, please use designated areas and dispose of materials properly.
What should we know about caring for the space?
We ask that guests treat the home and property with care, as they would their own. Shoes are not worn inside to help preserve the floors, and any accidental damage should be reported promptly so it can be addressed quickly.
What should we do at check-out?
Checkout is designed to be simple:
Please take trash to the bins located in front of the house
Place used towels on hooks
Ensure all doors are locked upon departure
There’s no need to worry about linens or deep cleaning—we’ll take care of the rest.
Is there cell service or Wi-Fi?
Cell service may vary depending on carrier and weather, which many guests appreciate as part of the retreat experience. Reliable Wi-Fi is available in the home, and login details are provided on-site.
